Day 2 Tarangire National Park

Get ready for your first day in the wild! After breakfast, your Natural Serenity guide will meet you at your lodge for a scenic two-and-a-half-three drive to Tarangire National Park.

Famous for its majestic baobab trees and thriving wildlife, Tarangire is especially renowned for its large elephant herds roaming the plains and gathering along the riverbanks. With over 500 bird species and breathtaking scenery, there's something fascinating around every turn.

You will enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch inside the park surrounded by nature, followed by an afternoon game drive before heading to your nearby lodge for a cozy evening.

Day 3 Lake Manyara National Park

After a fresh breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. While this park is small, it is filled with many different kinds of plants and animals. You will see beautiful landscapes, like a large saltwater lake, thick green forests, and steep mountain hillsides.

This park is very famous for two special things: its unique lions that like to sleep up high in the tree branches, and its large, beautiful families of elephants. The shores of the lake are also a paradise for birds, attracting over 400 different species. As you look around, you will easily spot large groups of buffaloes, fast cheetahs, tall giraffes, and antelopes walking near the water. After an exciting day of spotting animals, you will make a quick drive to your luxury hotel in Karatu to rest and eat a hot dinner.

Accommodations:

  • Kitela Lodge
  • Nyota Rift Valley

Day 4 Serengeti National Park

After a delicious breakfast, you will drive up into the cool, beautiful hills of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you will get to stop at an amazing viewpoint to look down at the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. It is a breathtaking view, so make sure to have your camera ready! After taking some photos, you will continue your drive through the area and enter the famous Serengeti National Park from the south side.

The Serengeti is an incredible place, and you will love its huge, open grasslands that stretch out as far as you can see. Because it is so wide and open, it is very easy to spot all the amazing wildlife. While you are out exploring, you will stop to enjoy a fun picnic lunch right out on the plains of the Serengeti! It is a wonderful experience to eat surrounded by the peaceful sights and sounds of the wild.

While there are tons of animals here all year round, the park is most famous for the Great Migration. This is when millions of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes travel together in a giant circle looking for fresh green grass to eat. This moving wildlife show happens every single month of the year, and your expert guide will know exactly where to take you to find them!

It is also one of the oldest natural areas on Earth, and its nature has stayed exactly the same for millions of years. While the park is home to a massive number of animals, today gives you your absolute best chance to see big cats in action, including proud lions, fast cheetahs, and quiet leopards hunting or playing!

Today, it is possible to do early morning and late afternoon game drives, returning to the Camp for lunch.

Day 6 Serengeti to Ngorongoro crater

Scientists believe that before it exploded and collapsed into a massive bowl, it was even higher than Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. Today, this ancient bowl has turned into one of the most beautiful, protected wildlife sanctuaries on Earth.

The scenic drive down into the crater is an exciting adventure all by itself. As soon as you reach the flat crater floor, you will find yourself surrounded by thousands of wild animals, including moving herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, along with over 500 beautiful bird species. This hidden world is also your absolute best chance to spot the rare, critically endangered Black Rhino grazing out in the open grass. After a full, wonderful afternoon inside the crater floor, you will drive to your comfortable safari accommodation in Karatu to enjoy a hot dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
